I’ve always been fascinated by masks, whether the ones we wear as decorative pieces or the ones we wear to hide who we truly are. Often with our online personas, we choose to hide ourselves and disassociate our online actions from who we are in our real lives. Would we really be so abrupt, rude or honest to the point of nastiness to someone if we were standing in front of them? I’m sure for a number of people the answer would be a resounding “yes!” but for many others, perhaps not. I’ve often read in people’s profiles “who I am here is the same in RL as in SL” or “there is a real person behind this avatar, with real feelings”. I wonder if these people actually remember their own words when their acts cause someone else to feel hurt or upset too. Who knows? These are all ramblings of an overactive mind.
A new round of the Trunk Show opened on the 19th October and as always the range of designs on offer are lovely.
