Stardust

I know, I should be filling my blog with festive images; after all it’s now the 20th December. I should be wearing a fluffy hat and tempting the big guy with promises of being naughty and nice. But today, I just can’t. I want to reach heavenward and capture stardust in my hands. Trail it through my fingers. Experience magic. Christmas can wait for a day. Today, I want to soar through space.

I dislike January. Strongly. It never used to bother me, but I find that as I become older (and wiser) I realise that January is one of those months I just can’t wait to get through. Thankfully it always goes by quickly; that’s it’s one saving grace. I can’t wait for warmer days, more sunshine in the evenings and that general feeling of “chill” that seems to seep into my soul as I walk home on a Friday afternoon listening to my favourite tunes. Bring it on!

A lovely lady I know has recently resurrected a group inworld designed for members to chat, teleport to new places and generally have fun. A Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, if you will. I love the idea for two reasons: it’s a chance to meet people and explore new destinations in SL. I’ve been around for 11 years now (12 in February…don’t judge) and it’s very easy the older you get, to just stick with your favourite haunts and talk with the same people. I’m hoping by putting myself out more, I might discover something new and exciting this year….aaaaand then crawl back into my little hole and hide. LOL! We are creatures of habit, after all.
