A good book

I love a good book, always have since I was a child. I grew up lost in worlds outside my four walls, engrossed in lives that other people lived or created. Even now as an adult, if a good book, a really good read captures my attention I won’t do anything else socially. I’ll tuck myself into bed and read for hours. I remember finishing the Kite Runner at 2am and just thinking “wow!” That’s the sign of a good book to me; one that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Do you have any to recommend to me?

Painting my nails is my weekly luxury (ok, one of them… >.>) I enjoy picking the colour (the brighter the better) and going through the application procedure. I love seeing the end result and thinking that no matter what happens, I have my killer nails on 😉 Add the perfect shade of lipstick and we’re ready to go. Hair, makeup, jewellery. A perfect combination. Now…pout!

POP!

I talked recently about my love of colour and warmth; my need for a splash of POP! in my life. A friend told me once that her colour palette has evolved as she has matured. She used to wear greens all the time, but more recently has found herself drawn to yellows and oranges. She equates it to becoming more comfortable in her skin and identity. I love that about her. To be brave and refuse to hide behind comfortable things.
