Sometimes I get inspiration from the unlikeliest of places. Today it was this lipstick and Grace Jones! I remember watching her in The Living Daylights as a kid, being awed by her sheer strength. “This is a woman not to be trifled with”, I remember thinking and yet now, I also see her as an artist, a pioneer of her time. Isn’t that something we should all aspire to? To be so unapologetically certain of yourself that others quake in their boots? I like the thought of that.

Hey, if you can’t have a bit of fun with a blog title, when can you?! Anyway, my little friend doesn’t mind; she quite enjoys the attention. I’m still in a cozy mode, although I’m sure very soon I’ll hit a party mood and all the sparkly dresses will come out to play. Today is my last working day for two weeks and all I keep thinking is “drag that sorry ass of yours over the finish line….then, rest”. I don’t know about the rest of the world but I’m ready to eat, sleep and watch a lot of Netflix. Merry Little Gothmas

I’m sure Izzy won’t mind me stealing her title, because it’s so perfect for my mood today. While my locale is bedecked with colour and festivity, I just want to wear black and hide…my personal grump corner, if you will. Christmas can be a difficult time of year for people. In my rl, we experienced a close bereavement on Christmas Eve a few years ago that now marks the season for us every year. We remember those who aren’t with us anymore. Equally, we remember the good times; the mischief moments that makes special memories. So, while my shadow guards me from behind, I look to the future, hoping for the best and positivity on the horizon ❤

Well, it’s a rainy Saturday morning in my part of the world and my title seems very appropriate today. I always try to see the good in people, the positive in a situation; my friends know this is my nature – I’m naturally a happy person. But my gut instincts are rarely wrong. My BFF will joke “you and your gut!” when I use that instead of my head. But today, my gut serves me well. Friends, readers, haters (lol)….if you ever get that feeling about someone, a situation, a circumstance: don’t ignore it. You’ll often be proved right.
