Vintage Feels

I love creating a mood with my clothing inworld. Time and time again I come back to the 50s to create a style, whether it’s for costume/dress up or for photography. Growing up, I used to love watching Doris Day movies, partly for their era and partly for the clothing. I can’t remember any of those movies now, but I do remember beautiful clothes, perfectly coiffured hair and red lips. Nowadays I wouldn’t choose to live in the 50s, but I smile when I think about 10 year old me, loving those movies.

Sunday morning

Gack! Now I have that song going through my head and I can assure you: this lady is NOT easy like Sunday morning, lol. As I created this scene, it really reminded me what Sundays are for me. I love to spend time on the couch with a mug of tea, just chilling and knitting. It’s one of my favourite ways to wind down, although some people would never guess this from the way I swear at my projects sometimes. Friends would like to believe that their gifts are made with love. Many of their gifts are often made with expletives! I suppose this is why my red cushion appeals so much; it often sums up my mood, especially as I approach the end of a project!

Yesterday, the Christmas tree went up in our home and today we will begin to wrap the gifts. I’m not a ‘Christmassy’ person by nature; I believe it’s more for children’s enjoyment than mine, but I do enjoy giving gifts at this time of year. It’s my way of saying “thank you, you’re appreciated” to those people in my life.

On that note, it’s time to get ready for the day and see what happens. I hope your Sunday is a chilled and peaceful one ❤
