For a number of years, I’ve enjoyed gigging on my own. Solo. Yes – a woman on her own doing something for herself that she enjoys. You would not believe the number of people who look at me surprised when I tell them this. (I also go to the cinema on my own – I know, what a *weirdo*). I realised a number of years back that if I spent my life waiting for other people to join me in activities I enjoyed doing that’s all I’d spend my life doing….waiting. I got bored of waiting, so I started living. As with all things in life, you have to be sensible and take precautions. No, I don’t mean pepper spray but trust your gut instinct and avoid any strange looking people who are staring at you (that’s another story for another day). So, if you ever spot me about, having a drink and waiting for the band to start, say hi. We might have some amazing stories to share 🙂

I’ve never been to a cinema on my own. At my age . That’s one of the things on my list I need to get over the nerves to do.
I catch a bus on my own, does that count 😀

It counts, but going to the cinema on your own is so liberating and fun. Try it xxx
