70s Boom!

Everything about this scene just screams the 70s to me. The wallpaper, the orange and brown tones, the chair that just doesn’t look comfortable….that textured upholstery!! Growing up in the 80s, there were still so many 70s references in my home. Our wallpaper was white and yellow in a flock swirly pattern that would send you cross eyed. The carpet was orange and brown until my parents took pity on us and mercifully switched it out. Our clothing was polyester (shudders) and purchased from C&A. I don’t feel like we completely left the 70s in my home until the late 80s. Honestly. So, I look at this scene, grab a cookie (also orange and yellow – how 70s!) and contemplate my life since then. Thankfully there are more breathable fabrics in my life but I do miss the simplicity and how, in my innocence, I truly believed anything was possible. Even the colour clashing of the wallpaper and carpet ❤
